SISTERS Project

SISTERS is the name of a twinning project co-financed by the European Union under the Europe for Citizens Program, Measure 2) Democratic commitment and civil participation.

The project involves the 3 Municipalities of Pineto (IT), Sibenik (HR) and Razlog (BG) and will be implemented during 2016. SISTERS is born from the tourist vocation shared by the three partner Municipalities and by their commitment to promote the respective human, cultural and natural resources.

Tourism is in fact one of the main sources of income for the inhabitants of the three locations involved, but this potential could be better organized and further developed through joint actions aimed at to stimulate new sustainability solutions in this area. Local administrations are working in this direction, convinced of the need to involve citizens in the decision-making processes and aware of the benefit that will arise from transnational cooperation.

The SISTERS work program will therefore start from the identification of 45 interested and relevant subjects for each partner city, which will be given the opportunity to participate in the project activities that will end with an international event hosted by the leader - city of Pineto (IT).
